About KRY

About KRY

  • What is KRY and how do I book a meeting?

With KRY you can get help with pains and symptoms that are possible to diagnose without a physical examination, where you as a patient can meet a doctor through video calls on your smartphone or tablet.

To book a meeting you need a Swedish personal number. First you log in with BankID, fill in a symptom form and then a doctor will call you at the appointed time. If the doctor consider that you are in need of medicine or further care, you will receive a prescription or referral. Our doctors can write medical certificates on condition that no need for physical examination is required for the certificate. It is up to each individual doctor to make an individual assessment of you as a patient.

See the symptoms and inconveniences we can help with here.

  • Who are the doctors that work at KRY?

The doctors that work for General Practices via KRY all have extensive experience from primary care. They work part-time with KRY and part-time with face-to-face appointments at GP clinics and specialist clinics in the Stockholm region, making them well-equipped to assess the symptoms we offer treatment for at KRY. All doctors have also been trained to provide the best possible care through video meetings on the platform.

What can KRY be used for?

What can KRY be used for?

  • Which symptoms can KRY help with?

KRY can be used for ailments and symptoms that do not require a physical examination for diagnosis. Not all health problems are well-suited for diagnosis and treatment in a virtual setting, and it is therefore important that you consult the list of symptoms our doctors can help you with before booking an appointment.

For the symptoms that are represented in our list, however, our doctors provide the same healthcare services they would in a physical clinic. This means that, if your doctor deems it necessary, you will be given a prescription for medication or referral to a specialist.

  • Is KRY a suitable healthcare provider for all medical problems?

No, KRY is not a suitable healthcare provider if:

    • You have a symptom / disorder that requires physical examination, some type of sampling or x-ray
    • You are in need of drug-based drugs. These are not prescribed via KRY.
    • You are in need of medicines containing pregabalin (Lyrica) or gabapentin (Neurontin)
    • You want to start treatment that requires long-term and regular medical contact
    • You are in need of a sick leave that may last for a long time. KRY does not make sick leave longer than 14 days. The 14 days count from the first sick day, ie you have already been home for a week, KRY can maximally help you with 7 days sick leave.

In case of emergency, call 112 and visit an emergency room.

The laboratory tests we can offer today are blood samples and patient-related tests, such as throat tests. KRY can offer sampling in the following counties: Stockholm, Uppsala, Södermanland, Örebro and Västra Götaland. We are working on to offer this service throughout Sweden in the near future.

  • Can I use KRY abroad or in different Swedish locations?

Yes. As long as you have a BankID, a computer or other devise with good internet connection and a functioning camera, microphone and speaker, you can consult your doctor in Sweden via KRY from anywhere in the world.

Keep in mind that the recipes our doctors issue can only be retrieved in Sweden.

  • Can I book a meeting on behalf of my child?

Yes. To book an appointment for your child, log in to the KRY app by signing up with your own BankID and then choosing whether to book a drop-in time or time-booking. Then you get a question for whom you want to book the time, and then choose My Child.

Children who are 16 years old can legitimize themselves with BankID at KRY.

Children must be present during the appointment, just like a regular appointment at a healthcare center.

  • How is KRY different from the health advice and information service 1177?

At KRY you can meet a doctor who can prescribe further treatment. A doctor´s appointment at KRY is therefore equivalent to any visit to a doctor in cases where a condition can be diagnosed without a physical examination or testing. The health advice and information service at 1177 is staffed by nurses who can provide healthcare related guidance, but who cannot prescribe further treatment. KRY therefore offers an alternative to an ordinary doctor?s appointment by providing the possibility to meet a doctor quickly and easily through an online meeting.

  • Can KRY help with borrelia and tick bites?

f you discover a small, dark spider-like insect that sticks to the skin, it is probably a tick. Ticks should be removed as quickly as possible because a few of the ticks can carry infections.

For example, ticks can carry Borrelia, which is an infectious disease. Borrelia infections are caused by bacteria and occur mainly between May and December.

The classic skin reaction at Borrelia occurs approximately 1-4 weeks after the bite. Usually, the impact measures more than 5 cm in diameter and slowly increases in size. In the immediate vicinity of the bite, a so-called "betting reaction" may occur that is not to be confused with Borrelia. This usually heals within 1 week.

Welcome to book a meeting with a doctor for advice and possible treatment for borrelia infection.
Before your meeting starts, you have the opportunity to fill in a symptom form. To this form you can attach pictures. Assuming that you take a good picture of what you wish to judge, there are good chances that you will get help via krys.

Backache

  • Can KRY help for back pain?

Yes. At Kry you can, through video interviews with our doctors, come deeper into what causes your back pain. You can then get advice on how to handle the problems and also get a referral if necessary.

Back pain is a common inconvenience experienced by many people during periods. Fortunately, pain is rarely due to a more serious disease. However, suffering should not adversely affect your life and should be taken care of.

    Symptoms:
You may experience that you get very tired in your body and can not really hold the upper part of the body. You may also feel a sharp back pain and have difficulty stretching yourself completely. The pain in the back can also radiate against, among other things, the loins and out in both legs.

    Causes:
One of the most common causes of pain in the back is that you make a fast and erroneous movement. You may also be stressing too much. An incorrect movement may occur, for example, in sports where you turn more than you should. Too much strain on the back may result from lifting heavy things with the back, instead of using the legs, also called backrests. Weakness in the back can also be caused by a sluggish body position and that some muscles do not get the right training.

    Treatment:
The best thing to do if you are in pain is to touch you carefully. Take slow walks in comfortable shoes and stretch your back muscles properly, avoid sitting down and stay upright. Rest does not make your back better, try to keep on your feet, your muscles need to be activated. Should the pain be overwhelming, painkillers can help in the worst moments. A physiotherapist, naprapath or chiropractor can advise you on which treatment method is best for your type of pain.

When should I apply for care?

Seek care if the backache does not pass within 1-2 weeks.
If you have back pain and also show other symptoms in combination with the pain you should seek medical attention immediately.
Do not hesitate to contact a doctor immediately if the pain occurs while you have any of the following symptoms as this may indicate something more serious. A back-related accident or a case should also be followed up with medical visits.

    • Fever
    • Stomach pain
    • If you do not feel when you become kissed
    • Numbness of the legs or abdomen
    • Treated for cancer

  • Can KRY write doctor's notes and medical certificates?

Doctors at KRY can write medical certificates on condition that no need for physical examination is required for the certificate. It is up to each doctor to make an individual assessment of you as a patient.

Doctors at KRY do not write sick notes for more than 14 days and are not able to issue these back in time (retroactively) and only from the same day you contact us. This generally applies to all healthcare providers, that you must have a contact or attempt to contact in order to issue a sick note.

  • Where do I get my sick note after the doctor's meeting?

The sick note will be sent to your inbox in the KRY app.

To get the certificate in the KRY app, open the app and click Inbox tab at the bottom. Open the message with the sick note and click on the PDF icon. You will now see the sick note on the screen in your phone or tablet. Click on the sick note again. You will now get an icon in the lower left corner (a square with an arrow in). Click on it and you will get different options. Choose between Print or E-mail, to send the sick note to your e-mail and print from a computer.

  • Can KRY write first day certificate?

An employer has the right to request a medical certificate from the first day of illness rehabilitation or monitoring purposes.

Our doctors can write medical certificates on condition that no need for physical examination is required for the certificate. It is up to each doctor to make an individual assessment of you as a patient.

Generally, you can stay at home and be ill without medical certificate during 7 calendar days. An employer may request a medical certificate earlier than this, a so-called first day certificate (in support of the Act, which entered into force in 2008), if there are special reasons. Special reasons may for example be repeated short periods of illness or well-founded reason to suspect cheating.

The idea of this rule in the act is, therefore, not that all employers may apply for a first day certificate for all employees in general. In order for an employer to apply for a first day certificate, there must be a written request. This written request for substitute certificate must not exceed one year. The doctor may want to take part in this request from the employer, therefore it is good to have it available for the doctor´s meeting.

  • Can KRY write medical certificates for non travelling or race?

Our doctors can write medical certificates on condition that no need for physical examination is required for the certificate. It is then up to each individual doctor to make an individual assessment of you as a patient.

It is up to the beneficiary of certificates (eg insurance companies or travel companies) to claim how they consider a certificate to be designed. There are thus many different rules depending on which company requires certification.

Referrals

  • Can I receive a referral?

Yes. If your physician deems that you are in need of further care you will be referred to the relevant specialist.

However, we can not write a referral to start an medical investigation requiring further regular follow-up, i.e. such as x-rays. In these cases, we refer to the regular healthcare center.

  • How is my referral sent?

KRY is responsible for sending your referral to the referral recipient. You will then be called for assessment from the recipient.
